ABOUT DAVE TROTTIER: Dave Trottier has sold several screenplays and developed projects for The Walt Disney Company, Jim Henson Pictures, York Entertainment, On the Bus Productions, Hill Fields (for ABC) and New Century Pictures. Titles include Igor's Revenge (produced), Zorro the Gay Blade (produced, but not credited), The Muppet's Hockey Movie-The Comeback Kids (not completed due to Jim Henson's death), Ratman From Saturn, Kumquat, The New Musketeers, and A Window in Time. He co-wrote and co-produced the cult comedy, Hercules Recycled, now available on video. Most recently, he wrote A Penny Promise (produced), for a regional production company, and sold Hemingway's Twin, an inspiring story about the Hemingway women. As a script consultant, he has helped dozens of his clients sell their work and win or place in contests (including two Nicholl Fellowship winners and a National Play Award winner). His book, The Screenwriter's Bible, is now in its fourth edition; and his exciting new volume, The Freelance Writer's Bible, is now available. He has written a column for Scr(i)pt magazine since 1989, and has published over a hundred articles in Writer's Digest, Hollywood Scriptwriter, Road & Track, USA TODAY, Vision, Disney Channel Magazine, COINage, Gift & Stationery, Single Parent, Creative Screenwriting, American Writer and other national publications. FIRST LOOK SCRIPT ANALYSIS "HOOK" CONTEST -- CLOSED

At about page 10 of your screenplay something happens that causes all that follows to occur. It draws you in and hooks you into wanting more.Submission Deadline: April 5, 2008Instructions: Submit the pages of your screenplay up to completion of the hook (inciting incident). Up to 12 pages may be submitted, but points will be given for structure if the hook falls on exactly page 10.Remove all identifying information from your pages and give yourself a code word. Please try to make this word unique to you, i.e. the name of a childhood pet. Submit the pages and the code word to Nancy Smith. Send payment and the code word to Joan Johnson. First round read will be managed by First Look Script Analysis with the assistance of ASG judges who are not eligible to submit to the contest. Dave Trottier will select the winners.Amount Due: $5.00 ASG Members & $10.00 Non-ASG Members, per entry Coordinated by Nancy Smith and First Look Script Analysis. No email submissions please.
